Upper Wyke Manor is situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, approximately 2 miles to the west of St Mary Bourne. St Mary Bourne itself lies in the Bourne Valley with everyday amenities including a church, three public houses, sub Post Office and shop, primary school and a health centre. The area is well served by other towns such as Andover, to the south, Newbury, to the north, Basingstoke to the east and Winchester to the south, which offer a comprehensive range of facilities. The neighbouring town of Whitchurch, approximately 4 miles distant, also offers a range of everyday shopping facilities.

The area benefits from excellent communications and commuter services with access to the south on to the A303 and the M3 to London, to the north to Whitchurch and on to the A34 with connections northwards and to the M4 motorway at Junction 13 at Newbury. There are rail connections from Whitchurch, Andover, Micheldever Station, Winchester and Basingstoke stations to London (Waterloo) and from Newbury to London (Paddington).

There are good educational and sporting facilities available in the area and the surrounding countryside is particularly well-known for its natural beauty with good walks and rides.
