This is a true, all round sporting estate of quality. The varied terrain and habitat provide ideal conditions for game of all kinds.

The seller is a very keen sportsman and has managed the Estate carefully and sensitively. The woodland areas have been designed and managed to maximise potential for the low ground shooting with some quite exceptional drives in dramatic, private countryside. The farming regime is managed to assist the grouse effort and the heather hill has been well burnt.

Two gamekeepers are employed and the standard of keepering is excellent.

There are few opportunities to acquire a Scottish Sporting Estate which provides such variety of sport of such quality. Fordie Estate has shooting, stalking, salmon and sea trout fishing and loch fishing. It is a complete sporting property.

Description

Fordie Lodge is a practical, convenient and well appointed lodge. Completely refurbished and refitted by the present owners about eight years ago, the lodge has great style and with its principal bedrooms, all with bathrooms, the secondary guest wing and Easter Cottage is ideal for entertaining either a small family party or the full shooting weekend.

Fordie is most convenient and practical. There is a large central hall and off this the principal reception rooms flow. The drawing room is a fine room for a winter’s evening with lovely views over Strathearn, whilst the dining room is conveniently placed close to the family kitchen with its separate breakfast room. The library with its hidden drinks cupboard gives on to the courtyard, conveniently close to the gun room with its woodburning stove. There are three principal bedrooms and four secondary bedrooms in the wing.

The detail of the interior design is superb with marble fitted wash hand basins, good sized baths and excellent woodwork throughout.

In short, Fordie offers not only a sporting box, but family home.

The Courtyard lies to the west of Fordie and on two sides comprises the family wing and East Cottage. On the third, useful storage and a game larder, whilst further to the west lies both the headkeeper’s and under-keeper’s houses together with buildings.
