Description

The Brampton Ash Estate is an outstanding agricultural and sporting estate with approximately 1,026.26 acres of arable land that includes both Grade II and III land. There is a first-class partridge and pheasant shoot on the estate that can accommodate a range of bag sizes. The shoot is enhanced with a good layout of woodland that extends to 314.74 acres. There is also 110.34 acres of grassland within the Estate.

The Land

The land is mainly Grade III with some Grade II land located to the north west of the estate. The land is defined in the Soil Maps of England and Wales 1983 as Hanslope and Denchworth Series being chalky till soils and fine loamy over clayeous soils respectively. The land is high yielding and suitable for growing winter cereals and grass. The land is undulating and ranges from 100m to 150m above sea level and this gives excellent far-reaching views over the Welland Valley to the north and rolling Northamptonshire countryside to the south.

The Shoot

The sporting rights are currently in hand and there is a well-established shoot on the Estate. The shoot is predominately a partridge shoot with pheasants later in the season. The shoot utilises the woods with the addition of some well-placed game plots which make some fantastic partridge and pheasant drives. The days provide a range of bag sizes from 200 to 400 birds; they currently shoot approximately 20 days over the course of the season. There are 15 main drives over the Estate with the potential to increase this with some smaller outside drives. There are a number of release pens situated in the woods.
